Getting Started With Divorce
Duration: 3 one-hour sessions
Who: For people who know they’re getting divorced or know they want to get to get divorced but don’t know where to start.
What: These sessions will cover understanding the legal options; how to find out the legal process and what may work best for your situation;downloading divorce forms from https://onlinedivorcer.com/online-divorce-iowa and filling them online; overview of the financial aspects; overview of the parenting aspects; deciding what happens to the marital home, and identifying your key areas of concern.
Outcome: By the end of these sessions you’ll feel in control of your next steps and have a realistic assessment of what getting divorced will entail.
Accepting Your Marriage AND Your Divorce
Duration: 3 one-hour sessions
Who: For the person who is still grieving the loss of their marriage or who is struggling with feeling their marriage was a waste or that their married years are a void, feeling that they failed. Typically your divorce would be final but this could be also be beneficial if the end of your marriage has been a long time coming or if you’ve been separated for some time and have still to work through the legal process.
What: This package covers understanding why you married your spouse, why you stayed in your marriage, and why the relationship ended. We’ll also work on uncovering the gifts from your marriage that you’ll have forever.
Outcome: By the end of these sessions you’ll embrace your marriage as part of your history, and that you are who you are today because of your marriage.
Parenting Without Guilt
Duration: 3 one-hour sessions
Who: Are you feeling guilty about the impacts of your divorce on your child? Would you like to be guilt-free?
What: The guilt that many of us experience as a parent often comes from the societal norm of what constitutes a happy family. In these sessions we’ll explore the myths and realities of your family life as a married couple, and how you can build on the positives in your co-parenting, while minimizing the negatives. Freed of marital conflict, many people find they become better parents after divorce.
Outcome: By the end of these sessions you’ll have created a Parenting Pledge setting out your commitments as a parent to your children and to your ex. Your Parenting Pledge will become the foundation to your new, rearranged family and a guide to you being the best parent you can be.
Getting Ready To Date
Duration: 3 one-hour sessions
Who: This package is perfect for the person who is ready to start dating, wants to make dating fun and wants to feel confident about dating.
What: We’ll work through identifying your values, knowing your strengths, what you’re looking for in a dating partner, how to use online dating sites successfully without feeling rejected, crafting your online dating profile to attract the dates you want and your dynamic 30-second introduction. We’ll also explore alternatives to online dating.
Outcome: By the end of this package you will have created a profile on your chosen online dating site, selected your profile images, be comfortable introducing yourself and be excited about first dates. You’ll be ready to get out there!
Adjusting To The New Financial Realities
Duration: 3 one-hour sessions
Who: For the newly-divorced person who is having to adjust to less money after divorce.
What: In this package we’ll explore your money beliefs and where they come from; uncover your money personality and why that may be harming you, rethink your relationship with money and develop strategies for adjusting your budget without seriously impacting your lifestyle.
Outcome: By the end of these sessions, you’ll understand your emotions around money and how to change these so you’re in control of your money and your money is not controlling you.
Getting To Forgiveness
Duration: 3 one-hour sessions
Who: Are you angry with yourself? With your ex? Is this anger interfering with your happiness?
What: Forgiveness is something many of us are familiar with but often times that familiarity is based on myths that create obstacles to healing. In these sessions you learn what forgiveness is and what it isn’t, identify at least one specific incident/event, work through the process of forgiveness for that event and then create your own ritual to complete the forgiveness process.
Outcome: By the end of these sessions, you’ll have a good understanding of forgiveness and have the tools to apply the process to other events and situations in your life.
The Small Print
Coaching sessions are conducted over the phone, via video conferencing or in-person where convenient for both of us.
Sessions are scheduled at mutually agreed times at the beginning of the coaching assignment and can be rescheduled with 24 hours’ notice. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
